Now if you know me I'm here ALL DAY EVERYDAY for events like this!! Combining some of fave things fashion and ballroom culture!! If you're not familiar with the ballroom culture click here! But Blacklist club essentially hosted it's FIRST ballroom extravaganza competition, and it was MAGICAL!
Blacklist rules for the ballroom event: "As you already know, there are two Houses representing on Saturday, being House Supreme (House Mother London) and House Sextravaganza (House Mother Lupe). Each house is eligable to walk in all the categories and everyone is entitled to enter as many categories as they wish.
The categories are as follows (in running order):
Urban Realness: This is for those upcoming legendary children to show off their street smarts. Bring your ultimate urban streetware game. Show us your pure hypebeast form. Nothing but the fiercest, freshest street style belongs in this category...
Sexy Diva: This category deserves nothing but the best, the finest haute couture! The designer chic, the labels, the glamour of Fifth Avenue. Bring the heels, bring the jewellery, bring the gowns and bring the glamour!!!
Bedroom God & Goddess: Lingerie! This is for those bois and girls who want to show off their seductive, alluring come to bed style. Make it sexy, make it skimpy and make it lacy and silky. Undies, stockings, heels and even pyjamas, if they're made of the finest silks on earth will cut it in this category.
Femboy Glam: A chance for all those sexy bois to strus their stuff and show the world what they're made of! Sharp suits, ultra sexy dresses, whatever it is, you must catch the eye and keep it if you want to bring home the trophy walking in this category!
Each category will walk for one hour, so you'll have plenty of time to change and strut your stuff to the ever critical judges. At the end of each category, the judges will give their scores out of 10 for each competitor and the winner will be awarded the Grand Prize. As stated, you will be representing either House Supreme or House Sextravaganza (your choice, pick one for the night) and you can walk in as many categories as you wish. Leading their houses, the House Mothers will also walk one category each on the night too.
We want this to be a fun celebration of the LGBTQ Ballroom culture, so please, if you have any questions, the House Mothers (London and Lupe) are here to answer them "
It did NOT disappoint, and the sounds from the FX show POSE (which if you haven't seen it, OMG please do, even if you're a of LGBTQ+ shows, it a really good watch, Highly recommend!!) it was TRULY a sight to behold, almost felt as if we were actually there in the 80s watching the most outrageous, fashions, POSES, styles, music, and of course the two houses competing head to head to win the prize! Here are some of the photos I managed to capture of the event and if you ever wish to see more, by all means do stop by Blacklist! Enjoy❤
