June 24th overview: We open!!! And of course the sim quickly got filled up! The team put on the last finishing touches moments before the event opened and everything is done! Today's events consist of the DJ set lists today, as well as the Fire Party in which guests have a chance to win some prizes!!! Feel free to stop by at many of the different attractions, rides, photos and of course check out the art work, and DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY on our dance floor!

June 25th overview: Today is the day for the FIRST workshop of the event! Attended the SOS meeting and listened to a few of the members there. 'SOS or Survivors of Suicide is a peer support group on SL for anyone affected by mental health issues, ranging from anxiety and depression to bipolar, schizophernia and everything in between. Founded in December of 2008, they are run by Krissy Sinclair to help prevent suicide and fight the stigma surrounding mental health. They've grown to over 1500 members and have become an umbrella for ALL kinds of mental health issues. Their group does included trained mentors that use their own experiences to help and guide others that reach out to them. They also provide a safe haven in the group where members can talk to and support each other. They aren't doctors or mental health professionals, but peers with a really wide and diverse set of skills and experiences who are always happy to listen to you and to offer emotional support and practical advice based on their own experiences.' They go on to say " We now have a pool of 17 trained peer mentors available in different timezones that can be contacted via their mentor board or by reaching out in group chat. We also offer several weekly peer support group meetings on topics including General Support, Depression, Anxiety, Grief Support, Sexual Assault Support, Dissociative Identity Disorder and Stress Support. Our activity schedule includes a regular games night, ASMR meditation and Primtionary, a fun Pictionary style game with prims. We are also trying to increase our engagement in outside events and do more outreach within the Second Life community." Here is their info if you wish to learn more or even schedule to visit them:

June 26th overview: Today marks the day for the 2nd workshop! (link attached click and go!) That starts at 11am slt til noon slt!! WWBH (we will be heard) group will be discussing the BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT! Roshambo heads the workshop on the WWBH side, she says "I am an anti-racist trainer in real life, but after what happened to George Floyd....everyone kinda of felt a sense of duty to do something..." She goes on to say "we started the BLM sl group in world and a BLM facebook group, and me and another creator worked together to create a sim called 'Walls of Freedom' which is a permanent build in SL that highlights for people what oppression is like in the real world" She wants to give people who have not experienced what it's like for minorities or minority groups to kinda walk a mile in our shoes in SL. Ro goes on to say that she has many tattoos on her avi that are custom made as well, that speak volumes about oppression. One reads ' No one is free when others are oppressed'. She says that for the upcoming WE WILL BE HEARD event in July, she is gathering minority creators, and staff to and more to bring education, lectures on how to become a successful minority creator or business owner in SL, fairs, a town hall and more. This event will open July 4th - July 18th! You hear the common tropes "ALL LIVES MATTER" Ro speaks on the strategies on how to educate people when they respond or counter an argument when faced with this. There will also be minority panelists (myself included) that will be speaking on these matters on July 9th!

June 27th overview: TODAY'S THE DAY!! We had a workshop hosted earlier today by the American Cancer Society and then we had the Pride Festival SL 2020 Fashion show!! Which was AMAZING!! CONGRATS to our winners: Onix Noir- Individual Pride 2020, Nico Sorbet- Mr. Pride 2020 & Sequane- Miss Pride 2020!!! All the candidates did beautifully and ROCKED OUT AND STRUTTED THEIR STUFF ON THE STAGE!! Special thanks to the Staff and Judges for coming to assist! I know the judges had some difficult decisions, but once again and also for the first time we have our 3 WINNERS!

June 28th overview: Today's the last day of PRIDE FESTIVAL SL! I along with the Sisters of Perpetual indulgence will start off the morning/noon time with a 2 hour workshop and interview with Mrs. Tiffany Parkin! Then the parties and festivities will begin! Be sure to stick around there will be parade going on later that day and of course between the hours of 2pm & 4pm slt is the ELEGANZA EXTRAVAGANZA CONTEST!! With the workshop over, I want to thank Dimi and Eva for once again putting on a spectatular event as well as the Pride Festival SL team I was fortunate to be apart of! Thank you Tiffany Parkin as well, for coming down to be interviewed! She was very insightful and helped add her experience as working in the healthcare field to the mix, gave us tips and tricks to stay safe while we ALL continue to deal with Covid 19, as well as her personal take on how it's effected her and her coworkers, and many others in the healthcare field. We also shared our personal stories of being in the LGBTQ+ community, and many other topics! It was an emotional and very educational experience and talk. We still have much work to do in this world but it is FAR from over and we WON'T stop! The festivities like I said aren't over, so come on down here to join us!! And there will be a PARADE going on soon and that's DEFINITELY something you do NOT want to miss! Also Art contest entries, we haven't forgotten you! We will be choosing the winner for that as well later on today!! Don't forget also to don your best ELEGANZA EXTRAVAGANZA outfit between 2pm & 4pm slt in order to get a chance to win some prizes!!
